Kurds warning Ankara for Rojava aggression

Brussels, 1 July 2015 - Middle East Diplomatic (MED) - Kurds from the Kurdistan Region in Turkey and Rojava (Syria) call to the UN-EU-US and warning Ankara to not play with more fire in the highly risky Middle East right now where the Isis gangs are massacring Kurds and other ethnical and religious groups.

The two main Kurdish parties, Partiya Yekîtiya Demokrat (PYD) and Koma Civakên Kurdistan (KCK) from both Kurdistan Regions underlined that any military interventions against Kurdish Rojava will bring the all the Midlle East and Turkey in to a serious chaos.

KCK, which is controlling the Kurdish guerrilla fighters (HPG) in the North Kurdistan Region (Turkey) treating Turkey openly if Turkey try to intervene Rojava. “This will be end of the any dialogue and peace process and it will be reason for a civil upraise and start of a new war in Turkey and Kurdistan region”. In such situation in the past time, all important Turkish targets, as well as tourism, industries and big metropole cities were targeted by Kurdish violence youth groups.

Turkey is also accused by the Kurds, Middle East ethnical-religious groups and some international communities to help direct or indirect isis, al-nusra, al-qaida and other terror groups.

The KCK and PYD statements comes after that Ankara threaten Rojava Kurds for interventions.  Kurds do believe that “Turkey which is neighbour with isis and other Islamic terror gangs in the last 3-4 years are not happy after that Kurds cleaned isis terrorist groups from Kobani and Gre Spi (Tal Abyad). Now Turkey fear seriously that Kurds will start a new operation against isis and al- qaida supporter terror gangs which are controlling alongside Turkish borders from Kobani to the Kurdish city Afrin”.

With help from Kurdish Peshmerga from Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Kurdish military forces in Rojava YPG had a great success against isis criminals in the last 5-6 months, but US-led airstrikes are still playing a important role in war against terror.

After capturing the Gre Spi from isis last June, Kurds cut a very strategies supplying road between Rakka and Turkey which was also one of the cruel important logistic and recruiting line for isis. Right now, Kurds controlling about 400 km from the east to west along side the official Turkish and Syrian borders.

The statement from Co-chairmanship of the Democratic Union Party (PYD): In the last few days, some officials of the Turkish government issued threatening statements, which resulted in the mobilisation of Turkish troops near the Syrian border.

We, the Democratic Union Party (PYD), would like to clarify to our people and theinternational community our stance on this matter:

1. As a part of the political movement in the Democratic Self-administration of Rojava (Western Kurdistan – Syria), we strive to respect international law, including agreements on international borders and peaceful and neighbourly relations among states.

2. Contrary to what the president of the Turkish Republic has suggested in his recent speech, we do not seek to form an independent state. However, we work, and will continue to work, towards the consolidation of the democratic selfadministration, which we believe to be the most appropriate model of governance in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and multi-religious Syria. This is a Syrian affair and neighbouring countries do not possess the right to intervene.

3. We, both the PYD and our partners, have repeatedly emphasised that we do not intend to cause problems or troubles for neighbouring countries. We, therefore, hope that neighbouring countries would be committed to the “UN Declaration on the Inadmissibility of Intervention in the Domestic Affairs of States."

4. We are co-operating with the international coalition in the fight against terrorism, and are fully committed to international law. We also have mutual allies with the Turkish state in this war against terrorism. Accordingly, any attack on the People’s Protection Units (YPG) and their allies in Rojava, serves the agendas of the terrorist gangs.

5. We firmly believe that any military intervention in Rojava would have serious regional and international repercussions, and may further complicate the political situation in Syria and the entire Middle East, threating international peace and security. We hope that the great powers, Turkey’s allies members of NATO, especially the US and France, would act to prevent any reckless Turkish decision to intervene in Rojava, which still constitutes part of the Syrian state territory.

6. The YPG and their allies have been defending Rojava areas against the forces of the dictatorial regime of Syria and other terrorist gangs. They have made countless sacrifices and are prepared to resist and repel any aggression from any party. We aim to establish a democratic political system, within the framework of the unity of the Syrian state. We seek to build good relations with neighbours and other nations in the region, based on the principle of mutual respect. We are part of the international coalition in the war against terrorism. We also renew our commitment to international treaties and conventions, and call on the neighbouring Turkish government to respect international law and to refrain from its provocative actions and repeated threats of direct military intervention. We appeal to the great powers to prevent a potential impetuous Turkish intervention in Rojava.
