KURDS CALL FOR NO-FLY ZONE IN AFRIN-ROJAVA

by Roni Alasor / Lorin Sarkisian

Brussels,  24 January 2018 - Middle East Diplomatic (MED) – After Turkish heavy bombs and attacks by Turkish backed islamic terror gangs, Rojava Kurds and Kurds from all parts of Kurdistan, as well as EU-Kurds are calling to the international community for urgent action before a humanitariancatastrophe starts in Kurdish Afrin region.

“The people of Afrin face attack, massacre and genocide. The situation is urgent. We call to the international community and every individual to act quickly and be in solidarity with the people of Afrin”

Kurdish political parties and organisations underline that “Right now Afrin is under blockade and isolated by Turkish military attacks and islamic terror gangs. A relief corridor should be opened in order to prevent a human tragedy and humanitarian-aid organisations should be able to easily navigate to and from the area”.

They also ask that the mutual border security between Turkey and Syria should be observed by UN peacekeeping forces.

Kurds do believe that Salafist-Daesh danger in Syria and around Kurdistan Region in Syria is not over. International Coalitions and everyone should act responsible and have to be concentrated in daesh-Salafist terror.

“We call to the UN, EU, US, China, Russia, NATO, France and Germany: Rojava, including Afrin, and the northern Syrian territory should be declared as non-conflict territory and taken into the status of a no-fly zone”
